We Interrupt This Kamp To Bring You…

We interrupt this week of Kanakuk’s K-Kauai Family Camp to bring you…

A trip to the camp doctor.

Hey, by the way, this camp doctor thing sounds like a pretty swank gig. What we need is a camp that needs a camp firetruck salesman. Or a camp blogger!

I know you’re totally thinking it was me that had to go to the camp doctor because of my general monkiness but it wasn’t!

See! It was Billy – which, just between you, me. and the Internet, cracks me up. Billy is always so coordinated that I love to catch him doing things that normal people do. Stella accidentally took him out of commission on the water slide this afternoon. I didn’t see what happened but apparently ‘trying to jump over her’ was involved.  She popped up and was fine. He was left with a big ole gash in his chin.

We tried to ignore it for several hours. We could tell it was way too deep to just stick a band aid on but we were so disheartened by the idea of leaving camp to get stitches that we practiced the fine art of denial. Hey! Something was are both good at.

This worked fine until I looked over at him after dinner and saw huge drops on blood pouring out of him. So, that was no bueno.

What in the sam hill is going on with my eyebrows in this picture? Ahem…

It was all good though because we had the nurses rolling as we tried to talk our way out of being sent off for stitches. ‘I promise we don’t care if he has a permanent scar!” And so on and so on. It was the Billy and Paula show, I tell ya.

They agreed to whip out some Dermabond and that’s what we ended up with.

So…yeah us!

Hey! I highly recommend a trip to the camp doctor. You get to ride in the golf cart and hang out with people that have walkie talkies and the like.

Maybe if Billy had had a walkie talkie he could have avoided Stella during their, um, stunt routine. I guess we’ll never know.
