Crying at the Luau…

Throw those gates open! It’s four o’clock on Saturday and that means it’s time for a new session of Kanakuk K-Kauai Family Camp to start!

Ain’t nobody getting in before four! No matter how cute they look.

As soon as that clock strikes four though cars start honking and kids start hanging out of sunroofs to let those that are in charge of the gates know WE ARE READY! Especially those of us who had been lined up for over an hour.

What can I say? We are suckers for camp!

And with this kind of welcome who wouldn’t be?

I swan every year after we get unpacked and I sit down in the pool for the first time I get downright teary.

Getting to attend is just such an amazing blessing to our family.

I also get teary the first time Billy and I find a hammock to snuggle up in.

Oh, yeah, and I get teary when the counselors start doing their cheers.

And I get crazy teary when I realize we aren’t coming next year!

So, this year I just want to enjoy it as much as possible and appreciate it for the amazing time it is.

I mean, where else could we find a reason to dress up and look this amazing for the opening night Luau?

Ahem…You probably shouldn’t comment on that last sentence.

Or look to closely at that picture because…Stella.
