Pulmonary Uh What?

A couple days into our vacation in Colorado I started to get crazy tired. Like, take a few steps and be winded, tired. I chalked this up to the non existent working out I did to get ready for the trip. As in, I didn’t work out to get ready for the trip.

This girl? She was tired. I mean, TIRED! She had also lost her lipstick because she isn’t wearing any in this pic.

Instead of my tiredness getting better the longer I was out there, the worse it got. I also developed a rattle and cough in my lungs that made me sound like I was an extra on The Walking Dead. It got so bad that I had to go into see the doctor.

Good times, huh.

One stay at the Snowmass Clinic later and I had been diagnosed with Pulmonary Edema. My oxygen level was at 81% which explains why I was so dang tired. They gave me antibiotics (for the touch of pneumonia the doctor said I had) a breathing treatment and drumroll please, an oxygen tank. Yep, I had to stay hooked up to oxygen for the duration of my stay. So, no more skiing.

Whomp, whomp, whomp…

Here’s what I learned:

Thing the first: Being able to breath is really important. ; )

Thing the second: People look at you really funny when you wear oxygen all the time.

The good news is I had a couple of good days before it all started.

We went in to Aspen and had an amazing meal at Justice Snow’s in the old Wheeler Opera House.

Clearly I didn’t take this picture because of the lack of snow in it but you get the idea.

Oooh! Oooh! And we saw this:

The Silverpeak Apothecary – A marijuana bar! Crazy, huh.

Maybe some of that would have helped with ye olde Pulmonary Edema! I guess we’ll never know because we passed right on by.

How about this snow sculpture of this dud chilling with his guitar?

Looks like he has been sampling what the Silverpeak has to offer, doesn’t it?

Don’t worry, I’m sure it was just for his Pulmonary Edema.
