Before I decided to bust out in a crazy fit of Colorado induced wheezes we got in a couple days of really good skiing at Snowmass and Buttermilk.
Even though it didn’t snow while we out there it doesn’t take much snow to impress my kids.
Heck, even before we got into the mountains the kids wanted to play in the snow in the parking lots we passed.
“I’m from Alabama. Don’t judge.”
The kids love to ski.
Even the wee beastie took right to it.
Plus, we went with some of the cousins and it doesn’t get any better than Colorado with your cousins.
I like the idea of the heated pool but the thought of the walk back in the flipping freezing cold is enough to keep me warm and toasty on lifeguard duty.
Insert obligatory ‘Oooooh!’ inducing mountains:
That peak in the back is called Maroon Bells. It’s super pretty and super high.
A few people have asked whether I’ve ever gotten Pulmonary Edema before. The answer is a resounding NO! We’ve been going to Colorado since I was four and I’ve never gotten sick before.
So…good thing it’s all worth it – especially since it got me out of walking in flip flops through snow to get back from the pool.
