It’s Friday and that means it’s time to participate in another Five Minute Friday! In case you don’t know, Five Minute Friday is a movement started by Lisa Jo Baker, the Gypsy Mama, as she’s known, where bloggers sit down for five minutes and write what’s in their heart from a one word prompt.
Now Gypsy Mama probably knows what the correct punctuation should be in in the above sentence because clearly that’s what we call a run on. That just goes to show that that really I have no business hanging out with this #FMF crew. They’re all like ‘love, peace, dreams’ and I’m all like ‘Hey! Did I ever tell you about the time I went out with Tim McGraw?’ That’s okay, though! It’s a fun experiment!
Tonight’s prompt for Five Minute Friday is Write.
Oooh! Oooh! I started to write a book this week!
I had this idea that, since blogging was easy, writing a book would be easy too. Yeah, not so much.
I’ve been working on it for a week now and I have six whole pages. They aren’t even good pages! Well, a couple of them are pretty good but mostly it’s just unedited drivel.
I’ve kind of psyched myself out because when I blog I never worry about punctuation or anything like that.
See, I was kind of hoping that once I decided to write a book I would just immediately turn into a SUPER SERIOUS WRITER! What? You’re surprised by this? I’m all about some immediate gratification.
The working title of the book is Seven Sweet Teas: Stories From a Forty Acre Wood. It’s just funny stories from the land where my Grandmom grew up. And yes, several people have already told me no one is going to read it. But, it makes me happy to write, WRITE, write so I do it!
Here’s me when I was a wee one on the 40 acres:
Now, you go write too!
