So when the movie "Flushed Away" came out several years ago I read several articles that...
Wait. Lets just go on and tell my Mom and anyone else with rat issues to please stop reading this.
Alright...so anyway several articles came out that talked about how rats actually made much better pets than hamsters or guinea pigs.
We got to test this theory out recently.
The oldest minion's class has a pet rat named Templeton.
He came home over a weekend with us.
I was kind of into him.
He has nice eyes.
And a crazy long tail.
"Hi. I'm Templeton."
I was kind of into him.
He has nice eyes.
And a crazy long tail.
The minions totally loved him.
Especially the little one.
She would stare at that cage for hours.
I think it made her think of things that are warm and cuddly and fuzzy.
Apparently it made him think of his belly button.
I mean he was kinda cute.
I was kind of loving him.
I kinda had visions of getting one.
This guy though...
He was not loving him so much.
It didn't make him think of warm, cuddly, fuzzy things or of his belly.
Party pooper.
I think it was the tail.
It would hang out and lay on the table.
It weirded Billy out.
Sorry, Templeton.
I was kind of loving you.
The husband kind of wasn't.

Well, my comments are kind of obvious but I still have to share them. That is one big ole rat and his tail definitely gave me the creeps as well.
ReplyDeleteAnd honestly 'objects in cage are larger than they appear' - the rat was HUGE.
ReplyDeleteI hope reading this blog post is my last experience with a pet rat. Definitely not on my wish list!! Chuck E Cheese and a pet rat all in the same month...you should get "coolest mom of the year award" for those two things for sure!
ReplyDeleteGuinea pigs are super cute. I like the appreciation factor too. We have a gecko and he is cute and turns cool colors but its not like he shows lots of appreciation when I put the crickets in his cage.
